Candied Yams

6 or 7 medium yams
1/2 c of sugar
1 c white
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 c sugcorn syrup
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tbls of butter

-Boil yams until tender; peel and place cut yams in buttered dish
-Heat sugar, corn syrup, salt and butter; pur over yams.
-Bake at 450F for 45-60 min. Turn over often.
